Berea Police Crimes Report 06/24/14

 

Theft: On 06/15/2014 Officers were called to the parking lot of Berea Community School in reference to several thefts. The windows were broken out of three vehicles and items were taken from inside. Estimated Loss: $630.00.

 

Theft: On 06/15/2014 Officers were called to Indian Fort Theater in reference to a theft. The victim reported that a vehicle window was broken out and items were taken. Estimated Loss: $165.00.

 

Alcohol Arrest: On 06/17/2014 Officers were called to the 100 Block of Scruggs Street in reference to a male subject causing a disturbance. The subject left the area on foot as the Officers arrived and he was located on Highway 1016. The subject had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. Officers arrested 51 year old Gary Lamb of Berea Ky and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

 

Drug Arrest: On 06/18/2014 Officers received a call in reference to a possible intoxicated driver, and then another call that the vehicle had wrecked at the 76 Exit. Officers were also advised that the subject left the scene and went to America’s Best Value Inn. The driver was located and it was determined that she was under the influence. Inside of her vehicle Officers located a small plastic bag with a white substance that field tested positive for Cocaine. Officers arrested 34 year old Alicia Stewart of Berea Ky and charged her with Operating A Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree Cocaine.

 

DUI Arrest: On 06/18/2014 a traffic stop was conducted on North Broadway for a minor traffic violation. The driver had slurred speech and stated that he had taken Suboxone earlier in the day. He also stated that he was unsure of what else he had taken. The Officers were able to determine that the subject was under the influence. Officers arrested 34 year old Jeremy Miller of Berea Ky and charged him with Operating A Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense.

 

Theft Arrest: On 06/18/2014 Officers were called to Hitachi in reference to a theft. Employees stated that in the early morning hours a male subject came to the business, parked his truck and loaded a spool of copper wire into the back of it. He was confronted by an employee who told him to unload the copper wire and leave. The employee was able to get a vehicle description and a license plate number. On 06/19/2014 Officers located the vehicle and the owner of the vehicle. The subject was positively identified and placed under arrest. Officers charged 31 year old Christopher Durham of Berea Ky and charged him with Theft by Unlawful Taking $500 or more but Under $10,000.

 

Burglary: On 06/19/2014 Officers were called to Central Ky Mixed Concrete. Employees stated that someone entered the business and took several items. Estimated Loss: $2,600.00.

 

 

Theft Arrest: On 06/19/2014 an Officer observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by a male subject in the parking lot of Indian Fort Theater. The Officer made contact with the subject because of several vehicle break-ins in the area. The Officer began speaking with the subject who eventually admitted that he had committed several thefts in the area including two today. He explained that he used a red metal pry bar to get access to the vehicles. Inside of his vehicle Officers located the pry bar, a loaded syringe containing Oxycodone and pill container with Roxicet, Acetaminophen and Oxycodone inside it. The subject took the Officers to Scaffold Cane Road and showed them where he had dumped the purses that he stole. Inside of his pants pocket he had two pieces of mail from a vehicle that he had just broken into. Officers arrested 48 year old John Stamper of Berea Ky and charged him with the following…

 

-Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (Four Counts)

-Theft By Unlawful Taking (Four Counts)

-Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree

-Tampering with Physical Evidence

-Possession of Burglary Tools

 

 

Theft: On 06/22/2014 a resident in the 2000 Block of Menelaus Road reported that several items were stolen from their residence. Estimated Loss: $151.00.

 

Trespassing Arrest:  On 06/23/2014 an Officer was taking a theft report at Walmart when he observed a male subject that had previously been banned from the store.  Paperwork provided by Walmart showed that the subject was banned on 7/30/2013.  Officers arrested 26 year old Jordan Palmer of Berea Ky and charged him with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree.  He also had an active arrest warrant for an unrelated matter. 

Public Intoxication Arrest: On 06/24/2014 Officers were called to the Holiday Motel parking lot in the early morning hours in reference to a disturbance between two subjects. They located a female who was unsteady on her feet and had constricted pupils and slurred speech. Officers arrested 31 year old Brandy Riney of Berea Ky and charged her with Public Intoxication.
