Theft from Residence: On 12/07/2013, a representative of Colorama reported that two items belonging to the store had been stolen from the residence of customer to whom the items were leased. The theft occurred on or about 11/22/2013. The following items were reported missing: an LG 42” LED television and a Sony PlayStation 3. Estimated loss: $1100.00 (3268/416)

Drug Charges: On 12/10/2013, police charged Michael G. Murphy, age 24, Meadowlark Drive, for drug offenses following a D.U.I. offense.

At approximately 9:09 P.M., an officer stopped a vehicle being driven by Murphy on the Eastern Bypass. It was subsequently determined that Murphy was under the influence of an intoxicant and he was taken into custody. A search of his person revealed a syringe, a used spoon, and a small scale. Murphy was transported to the MCDC where a further search of his person produced a small bag of heroin and a small bag of marijuana.

Murphy was charged for the following offenses:

  • D.U.I.
  • Driving on a Suspended Operator’s License
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Promoting Contraband 1st Degree (3288/419)

Theft from Vehicle: On 12/11/2013, a resident in the 1600 block of Foxhaven Drive reported that several items had been stolen from his vehicle sometime during the day. There were no signs of forced entry. The following items were reported missing: a Racial and Ethics college textbook; a Law Management college textbook; and a set of Sony headphones. Estimated loss: $217.00
