Richmond Police Crime Report 05/07/14

Theft:   On 04/28/2014, a complainant reported that her son’s iPod 5 Touch had been stolen on 03/09/2014 while he was visiting a residence on E. Irvine Street.  Estimated loss:  $225.00                                  (0978/425)

 

Theft Charge:   On 05/04/2014, police charged Ricky D. Wagers, age 50, N. Collins Street, in connection with the theft of items from a vehicle.

 

At approximately 6:25 P.M., a complainant reported that he had parked his truck on N. Collins Street near Wagers’ residence earlier in the day while attending church.  After church, the victim returned to his vehicle and departed.  It was not until later in the day that he discovered that a lawn mower and other small pieces of lawn care equipment were missing from the bed of his truck.  The victim returned to the area of the theft and discovered his stolen mower in close proximity to Wagers’ residence.  The police were then summoned.

 

After further investigation, all of the stolen items were recovered in close proximity to Wagers’ residence.  Wagers was taken into custody, charged for Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500 and Tampering with Physical Evidence, and lodged in the MCDC.                                                                                                      (1040/454)

 

Theft from Residence:   On 05/04/2014, a resident in the 500 block of Mt. Rushmore Drive reported that a white iPod, 8GB, in a blue Otter Box case and $70.00 in cash had been stolen from her residence sometime during the past day.  Estimated loss:  $320.00                                                                                    (1035/420)

 

Drug Charge (additional):   On 05/03/2014, police charged Michael C. Horn, age 21, Detroit, MI, for drug trafficking in connection with an incident that occurred in December 2013.

 

On 05/03/2014, police encountered Horn on Ballard Drive and took him into custody on the strength of an outstanding bench warrant from the Madison District Court charging him for Failure to Appear.

 

At the same time, Horn was charged for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree in connection with a drug sale made on 12/11/2013.  On that date, RPD Narcotics detectives purchased a quantity of heroin from Horn during a covert operation.

 

On 05/05/2014, a second count of Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st Degree was placed against Horn in connection with a drug sale of heroin made on 12/12/2013.

 

Horn was lodged in the MCDC.                                                                                            (13003298/305)
