Burglary of Residence:   On 05/01/2014, a representative of Robertson Rentals reported that a wall mounted heating and cooling unit had been stolen from one of the company’s apartments in the 700 block of Sizemore Drive sometime during the past month.  Estimated loss:  $600.00                                                  (1005/423)

 

Theft from Business:   On 05/01/2014, a representative of Cricket, 830 Eastern Bypass, reported that three Samsung Galaxy S4 cellular telephones (two white, one black), model #SCHR970ZCK, a white Apple iPhone 5C cellular telephone, a black Samsun Gear cellular telephone, model #SM-V7000ZKAXAR, and $578.00 in cash had been stolen from the store during the past day.  A suspect was identified.  Estimated loss:  $1008/420)

 

Burglary of Residence:  On 05/03/2014, a resident in the 700 block of N. Third Street reported that a white Xbox gaming system, 16GB, with two controllers and two video games had been stolen from her residence sometime during the past two days.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Estimated loss:  $120.00   (1030/408)

 

Burglary of Residence:   On 05/03/2014, a resident in the 200 block of S. Third Street reported that a Samsun 32” flat screen television had been stolen from her home sometime during the past five days.  There were no signs of forced entry.  Estimated loss:  $180.00                                                                                  (1025/408)

 

Theft from Bicycle:   On 05/03/2014, a resident of Smith Village reported that a black, red, and white Huffy boy’s bicycle had been stolen from her residence during the overnight hours.  Estimated loss:  $80.00

Theft of Vehicle:   On 05/03/2014, a complainant reported that his pickup truck was stolen from Ty Lane sometime during the past day.  The victim parked the vehicle shortly after midnight and returned to find the vehicle missing at 4:00 P.M.  The stolen item was described as a maroon and primer gray 1991 GMC 1500 extended cab pickup truck, KY license #976-HLE, with a GMC sticker in the rear window.  Estimated loss:  $1000.00                                                                                                                                               (1024/408)

 

Drug Charge:   On 05/03/2014, police charged Michael C. Horn, age 21, Detroit, MI, for drug trafficking in connection with an incident that occurred in December 2013.

 

On 05/03/2014, police encountered Horn on Ballard Drive and took him into custody on the strength of an outstanding bench warrant from the Madison District Court charging him for Failure to Appear.

 

At the same time, Horn was charged for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree in connection with a drug sale made on 12/11/2013.  On that date, RPD Narcotics detectives purchased a quantity of heroin from Horn during a covert operation.

Theft:  On 05/04/2014, an employee of CiCi’s Pizza, 830 Eastern Bypass, reported that his white iPad Mini, 16GB, in a Life Proof case had been stolen during the late afternoon hours.  The victim indicated that he left the iPad unattended for a brief period of time near the soft drink machine in the business.  When he returned, the iPad was missing.  Estimated loss:  $424.00                                                                                          (1038/408)

 

Burglary of Business:   On 05/04/2014, at approximately 4:48 A.M., officers responded to a possible burglary in progress at Liquor Mart II, 1019 Sylvia Drive.  Upon arrival, officers discovered the glass had been broken out of a side door.  A check of the building and the area failed to produce any intruders or suspects.  The owner of the business was summoned to the scene and discovered that four boxes of Lex12 cigars, 40 Black & Mild cigars, eight cartons of King Mountain cigarettes, and three boxes of Swisher Sweet cigars were missing.   Evidence indicated that three suspects were involved in the burglary, but race and gender could not be established.  Estimated loss:  $387.00                                                                                               (1033/409)
