Richmond Police Crimes Report 06/17/14

Criminal Mischief Arrest:   On 06/15/2014, police charged Joshua Mills, Hanover Avenue, for vandalizing a vehicle connected to a domestic incident.

 

At approximately 8:50 A.M., a female victim reported that her vehicle had been damaged while it was parked on Keystone Drive during the overnight hours.  It appeared that the vehicle had been struck in the door with a vehicle and the door had been kicked, leaving a shoe print.  Mills was identified as the estranged husband of the victim and a suspect in the incident.  Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1500.00.

 

A short time later, the investigating officer made contact with Mills at his residence.  An examination of Mills’ vehicle and his shoes produced evidence implicating him in the offense.  In addition, Mills was the subject of a Domestic Violence Order (DVO) restraining him from damaging the victim’s property.

 

Mills was charged for Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Violation of a Kentucky DVO.  He was lodged in the MCDC.                                                                                                                                               (1431/423)

 

 

Parole Violation Arrest:  On 06/16/2014, police arrested Coby G. Chasteen, age 31, Berea, on the strength of a parole violation warrant.

 

On or about 06/08/2012, Chasteen was convicted in the Madison Circuit Court for Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.  He was sentenced to three years imprisonment.  However, the sentence was suspended and Chasteen was placed on probation for five years.

 

On or about 10/18/2012, Chasteen was found to have violated the conditions of his probation and the original sentence of three years imprisonment was imposed.

 

On or about 11/16/2012, Chasteen was granted shock probation and released from prison.  He was again placed on probation for five years.

 

On or about 09/30/2013, Chasteen was convicted in the Madison Circuit Court for Receiving Stolen Property $500 to $10,000.  He was sentenced to two years imprisonment.

 

On or about 10/08/2013, as a result of his most recent conviction for RSP, Chasteen’s probation was revoked in his first case and the original sentence of three years imprisonment was imposed.

 

On 12/13/2013, Chasteen was paroled.

 

On 01/10/2014, a Parole Violation Warrant was issued for Chasteen’s arrest after he violated the conditions of his parole, including absconding parole supervision and failure to complete a Halfway House program.

 

On 06/16/2014, officers located Chasteen in the 700 block of E. Main Street and arrested him on the strength of the parole violation warrant.    He was lodged in the MCDC.

 

Robbery:   On 06/17/2014, at approximately 12:35 A.M., a complainant notified the Madison County 9-1-1 Center that he had been robbed at gunpoint at a car wash near Redi Mart on Red House Road.   The suspect then entered an awaiting vehicle and fled from the scene with an undetermined quantity of cash taken from the victim.  The victim proceeded to pursue the suspect vehicle northbound on Red House Road until the victim collided with another vehicle, thus ending his pursuit of the suspects.  The victim reported that during the chase he was shot at from the suspect vehicle and a hammer was thrown from the suspect vehicle that struck his vehicle.   The investigation into the robbery is ongoing with further details expected soon.                       (1442/452)
