Madison County Health Board Considers Asking Local Governments for Smoking Ban

The Madison County Health Board meet in a special called meeting where they decided to consider asking the county’s three governments to ban smoking in indoor public places. The meeting came after the board acknowledged a June 19th Kentucky Supreme Court ruling that said Bullitt County’s Health Departments indoor smoking ban was invalid. It was based on Madison County’s 2007 regulation. The supreme court said the health board was an appointed body and could not assume a power reserved for elected officials.
